SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG

To make it possible for the main Series to concentrate their attention on matters which do not involve Shadow, SEGA has decided to create a spin-off, revolving even moreso around Shadow.

Upon his initial learning of an alien invasion across the Planet, Shadow goes to investigate it. Upon encountering the alien leader, Shadow is initially presented with three options. One is to follow his own route and ignore both Sonic and the Black Arms (which will ultimately lead him into an alliance with Dr. Eggman). His second option is to join the Black Arms in their intentions of taking over the Planet. His third option is to side with Sonic, and work to defeat the Black Arms.

Extra Weapons
Complete the game following any "6-X" Level which you have not already completed, and complete either Mission. You will receive the new weapon upon defeating the Boss.

Level 2 Extra Weapons
Do the same as above, but complete the other Mission in the "6-X" Level to unlock the Level 2 upgrade for your Extra Weapons.

Shadow Rifle
To unlock the powerful Shadow Rifle, complete the Last Story.

Expert Mode
Expert Mode can be unlocked by obtaining a top rank on every Mission of every Level in the game. This mode puts you up against a harder version of one Mission on all of the Levels, with no Bosses.

Endings
There are ten different Ending Sequences to the main game mode. These will be determined by what you do in Stage 6, and which Stage 6 you are playing through.

THIS SECTION WILL CONTAIN MAJOR SPOILERS!






Ending # 1
Criteria: Complete the Dark Mission in the "G.U.N. Fortress" Stage.
Boss Battle: Sonic And Diablon with Doom's Eye as ally.
Ending Sequence: Sonic lies defeated in front of the broken-down Diablon, and asks Shadow what he intends to use the Chaos Emeralds for. Shadow replies that he is going to "destroy the d*** Planet", before coming out with a terrifying laugh.

Ending # 2
Criteria: Complete the Hero Mission in the "G.U.N. Fortress" Stage.
Boss Battle: Black Doom with Rouge as ally.
Ending Sequence: Black Doom lies defeated on the floor. He informs Shadow, "Do not think that this is over...". As Rouge looks concerned when the implications of that statement suddenly make her realise "something", Shadow slightly celebrates his victory.

Ending # 3
Criteria: Complete the Dark Mission in the "Black Comet" Stage.
Boss Battle: Sonic And Diablon with Doom's Eye as ally.
Ending Sequence: Sonic lies defeated in front of the broken-down Diablon, and begins to panic as Shadow announces his plans to use the Chaos Emeralds for the purposes of assisting the plans of Black Doom.

Ending # 4
Criteria: Complete the Hero Mission in the "Black Comet" Stage.
Boss Battle: Dr. Eggman In Egg Dealer with Knuckles as ally.
Ending Sequence: The Doctor reveals a few secrets about Shadow's alleged past, as he attempts to strengthen himself enough to be able to speak to Shadow properly. Shadow doesn't give him a chance to do so...

Ending # 5
Criteria: Complete the Dark Mission in the "Lava Shelter" Stage.
Boss Battle: Dr. Eggman In Egg Dealer with Omega as ally.
Ending Sequence: Basically the same as Ending 6, but Omega is less involved, and they make little references to their plans for a new robotic empire. Robotnik still gets his skull bashed in by Shadow, mind you...

Ending # 6
Criteria: Complete the Hero Mission in the "Lava Shelter" Stage.
Boss Battle: Dr. Eggman In Egg Dealer with Omega as ally.
Ending Sequence: Shadow asks the defeated Doctor a few questions about his past, and Omega decides to finish him off. Shadow and Omega decide to build a new robotic empire using their combined efforts, and Shadow ultimately delivers the finishing blow to the Doctor (!)...

Ending # 7
Criteria: Complete the Dark Mission in the "Cosmic Fall" Stage.
Boss Battle: Dr. Eggman In Egg Dealer with Vector as ally.
Ending Sequence: Shadow asks Eggman about his past, and Eggman maintains his story. Shadow initially plans to finish Eggman off, but ultimately decides to spare his life.

Ending # 8
Criteria: Complete the Hero Mission in the "Cosmic Fall" Stage.
Boss Battle: Black Doom with Vector as ally.
Ending Sequence: Shadow tries to ask Black Doom about his origins, but Black Doom teleports away.

Ending # 9
Criteria: Complete the Dark Mission in the "Final Haunt" Stage.
Boss Battle: Sonic and Diablon with Doom's Eye as ally.
Ending Sequence: A defeated Sonic crawls out of the wreckage of the defeated Diablon, as Shadow announces his plans for the Chaos Emeralds.

Ending # 10
Criteria: Complete the Hero Mission in the "Final Haunt" Stage.
Boss Battle: Black Doom with Sonic as ally.
Ending Sequence: Black Doom takes off to complete the final phase of his plan, leading into the Last Story of the game.
