Story
Shadow stands in a city, as a newspaper floats by with a headline declaring the once-every-fifty-years passing of the "Black Comet". In a moment of relative peace, Shadow begins to think.

Of course, this doesn't last. Alien invaders, calling themselves the "Black Arms", begin attacking the city, and the global military organisation, GUN, is scrambled to stop their brutal assault on the planet. The damage is not local - six major cities on the planet have been attacked by these invading forces, with the aliens gaining power at an alarming rate. Shadow decides to investigate, leading him into a confrontation with the alien leader, Black Doom.

Black Doom makes Shadow an offer to tell him the truth about his origins in exchange for assistance, and Shadow must decide - should he follow and trust this invader to tell him the truth about his origins? Should he team up with Sonic to take Black Doom down? Or should he follow his own path and confront Dr. Eggman about his origins? That is yours, as the player, to ultimately decide.
