Angel Island, also known as the Floating Island, is a large island which floats high in the sky under the power of the Master Emerald. It is also home to Knuckles and previously home to the entire echidna race. This article refers to the actual island, not the zone of the same name, Angel Island Zone.

This is the first appearance of the island when it splashes down into the ocean after Dr. Robotnik steals all the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald. After the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Sonic and Tails arrive on the beach of the island and run into Knuckles.
