Bonus Stages are similar to Special Zones in that, generally, they are additional stages which are accessed in specific ways outside of the normal level progression through the game. The bonus stages are different from the Special Zones in that they are only for collecting bonuses, rather than Chaos Emeralds. Bonuses such as power-ups, rings and additional score are collected here.
