The Gimmick Mountain Zone is the fifth zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-Bit) and is the first industrialised zone in the game built into a mountain and hidden inside the rock itself. Dr. Robotnik has filled the inside rock with his metal and machinery, as well as filling the area with traps. The Chaos Emerald is hidden in act 2.

At the end of the short act 3 is Inobuta Mecha, a mecha designed on the hybrid of a wild-boar and a pig. Inobuta Mecha is armed with spikes across his back and a powerful charge attack.
