The following are the levels featured in the game.

Contents

[edit] Palmtree Panic

This zone is a tropical paradise, similiar in style to the Green Hill and Emerald Hill of previous games. It's filled with palmtrees, lush grass and bright flowers. The sun is always shining and there are even waterfalls. The terrain itself is littered with loop-de-loops and tunnels.

The Bad Future of this zone sees the land devestated by Robotnik's influence. The grass has turned brown and died, the lakes have become polluted with oil. Factories have been set up in the distance and various machinery and pipelines cover the land.

[edit] Collision Chaos

A brightly pink coloured place filled with springs, bumpers and pinball flippers similar to those found in the Casino Night Zone. Bright neon lights and signs fill the sky, and there are very small areas of grass. Scaffolding makes this place seem like it is still under construction.

In the Bad Future the brightness of this zone has dimmed, the bright pink walls become a dull green/grey. Like previously, Robotnik's machinery is everywhere and has polluted the land and the skies.

[edit] Tidel Tempest

An aquatic level, very similar in style to the Labyrinth Zone. Tunnels and water currents take Sonic to new places, and water bubbles coming up from cracks in the ground ensure he can survive deep in the water.

In the Bad Future what little vegetation that lived has now died, and most of the marble flooring has been replaced with rusting metal.

[edit] Quartz Quadrant

Seems like an underground mine, filled with treadmills and tunnels, as well as bright quartz rocks. It's also possible for Sonic to reach the surface.

In the bad Future all the Quartz is gone and the mine has been totally overun with Robotnik's machinery.

[edit] Wacky Workbench

An brightly lit industrial level which seems to have an electricfied floor which sends Sonic soaring through the air. This level is quite dangerous due to lengths of flex that light up periodically and electrify Sonic if he is standing by them.

In the Bad Future the electrified floor still works but the level has lost much of it's bright colour, replaced with a rusty brown.

[edit] Stardust Speedway

High in the sky are long intertwining tracks, designed to confuse. Filled with springs and pads that make Sonic run even faster, in the background the sky is littered with stars. If he goes low enough you can see a brightly lit neon city. In the centre of Act 2 is a giant structure in the shape of Dr. Robotnik.

In the Bad Future the sky is filled with dark thunder clouds and the bright lights have dimmed.

[edit] Metallic Madness

This zone is completely under Robotnik's influence, purely robotic and metalic, there is nothing natural at all. It's a dangerous place, filled with traps. In Act 2 there is a laser that can shrink Sonic to half his size.
