Marble Zone

Marble Zone is the second zone in Sonic 1, following straight on from Green Hill Zone. It is a purple torture chamber, with spikes attached to the ceiling and lava pits. The description from the American manual is as follows:

Leap across pools of red-hot lava and shifting islands. The find the way to the underground palace where massive weights and flying balls of fire block your path.

Here are a few tips on how to defeat bosses and complete this level perfectly.

• Act 1: 62 rings (+70 10 ring monitors)
• Act 2: 55 rings (+60 10 ring monitors)
• Act 3: 72 rings (+30 10 ring monitors)

[edit] Boss Battle

In this battle, Dr. Robotnik fights by shooting fireballs on the platforms, from above. Robotnik will fire at one platform at a time, and will move back and forth while doing so.

Begin this battle by standing on the left platform. When Robotnik approaches you, jump and quickly hit him once, and then jump over the lava and onto the other platform to dodge the fireballs. When Robotnik gets near you again, hit him once, and then jump to the other side. By this time, the fire should've cleared itself on the other platform. Eight hits will destroy this boss.
