The Mushroom Hill Zone is a lush grassland covered in mushrooms, as the name would suggest, and first appeared in Sonic & Knuckles.
 Sonic 3 & Knuckles
This is the first zone of Sonic & Knuckles and the seventh zone of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. In Sonic's storyline, Sonic arrives here after stopping the launch of the Death Egg and spots Knuckles up ahead, giving chase. In Knuckles' storyline, he is seen relaxing in the zone until an Eggrobo attacks the other animals, causing Knuckles to go on his own mission to chase the badnik.Sonic or Knuckles up to higher platforms. The mushrooms themselves can also be used like weak springs. Dr. Robotnik has also installed a large satellite which is altering the climate of the zone, as seen in act 2 when the zone changes from summer to autumn.
This zone contains two bosses; a sub-boss and the main boss.
Sonic the FightersSonic the Fighters as the fourth arena and is much like the design found in Sonic & Knuckles. The stage itself uses mushrooms to denote the arena borders and can be bounced off of. This zone is guarded by Espio and after defeating him the player will receive a purple Chaos Emerald.
