Palmtree Panic Zone
|Palmtree Panic Zone|
|Palmtree Panic, in the present|
|Features in||Sonic the Hedgehog CD|
|Preceded by||None, first level|
|Proceeded by||Collision Chaos Zone|
The Palmtree Panic Zone is the first zone in Sonic the Hedgehog CD and is typical of many first levels seen previously in that it is a tropical grassland filled with palm trees, cascading waterfalls and loop-de-loops. One noticeable difference is the chequered patterns aren't built up of squares like in previous zones of this style, but triangles instead.
In the past of this zone, the native flora takes on a more prehistoric look and the zone is coloured with less brighter hues. In the bad future created by Dr. Robotnik the zone has become heavily polluted and mechanised, the waterfalls now flow with dirty water, and the grass and plants are dieing. In the good future the zone has also been mechanised to a small degree, but the pipes are transporting water around the zone, possibly providing hydroelectric energy. The zone appears even brighter and cleaner than it is in the present.
Dr. Robotnik appears at the end of the 3rd act piloting the Bobbin Walker.
