A European MegaDrive

The Sega MegaDrive is a 16-bit console first released in 1988 in Japan and in 1989 in North America. The Sega Genesis is the North American incarnation of the Megadrive, and the inconsistancy in name is since Sega was unable to gain legal rights to the intended name.
