Shadow The Hedgehog is a spin-off of the popular Sonic Adventure series in which you control the mysterious black hedgehog Shadow. You will be faced with upwards of fifty unique missions, with the aid of weapons and vehicles, in order to find the true history behind Shadow the Hedgehog. This is one of the few games in the series which doesn't feature Sonic as the main character.

[edit] Gameplay
Shadow will engage in a complex battle between enigmatic alien life-forms, the G.U.N. and Dr. Eggman himself in over 50 unique Missions to discover the truth about his past and end the way in which it torments him. He will use weapons, vehicles and other objects to achieve his goals. The game has a branching storyline, where the paths, levels and characters Shadow comes across are determined by decisions made by the player as the story progresses. Ultimately the endings range from Hero, Normal onto Dark.
[edit] Vehicles
Shadow is aided several times throughout the game by various vehicles.
[edit] Black Arms Air Saucer
- Stages: Air Fleet, Black Comet, The Last Way, G.U.N Fortress
- Weapons: None
The Black Arms Air Saucer is by no means designed to be an offensive weapon in combat. It consists of a powered, circular disc, upon which the pilot stands. It can be used to cross areas which would otherwise be hazardous to their user, such as slime lakes and electro-rails. It also allows the pilot to fire Weapons while aboard the device. Black Assassins frequently ride these machines over the slime lakes and rivers of the "Black Comet" and potentially "The Last Way" Stages, and can teleport their Air Saucers with themselves. However, defeating such an opponent will allow you to access his or her Air Saucer.
[edit] Convertible
- Stages: Westopolis, Lethal Highway, Central City
- Weapons: None
The Convertible a vehicle with no weapons and isn't quite as durable as some other vehicles in the game. However, it is quick, and it does provide a bit of a shield from slime.
[edit] G.U.N. Cannon Walker
- Stages: Air Fleet
- Weapons: Quadruple Laser Cannons
It looks and walks very similarly to the G.U.N. Jump Mech, but it is slower, has a lower jump arc, and is armed. While it is fairly useful for taking out distant opponents, it only really comes in useful as an offensive weapon against Black Arms Giants. Although it can resist most Black Arms attacks with ease, G.U.N. Mechs will tear it to shreds in a few hits.
[edit] G.U.N. Jump Mech
- Stages: Sky Troops
- Weapons: None
The G.U.N. Jump Mech moves fairly slowly, and is unarmed, making it much more suitable for platforming situations rather than combat situations. Although most opponents can be defeated with a single jumping attack from this machine, such an attack requires a high level of accuracy, and the only enemies which are big enough to hit with ease in this way take multiple hits to defeat using this particular machine.
[edit] G.U.N. Jeep
- Stages: G.U.N. Fortress
- Weapons: None
This motor is a very good machine for certain situations. It can withstand a lot of firepower, and can last for quite a while in the G.U.N. Fortress Stage. The vehicle is left-hand drive, and you can fire Weapons from the side of the vehicle while driving it. Collect a Gatling weapon or a multi-shot weapon with lock-on functions while driving this machine for the greatest offensive effects. It turns fairly well, and is quite quick, as well.
[edit] G.U.N. Open-Top Jeep
- Stages: Westopolis, Air Fleet
- Weapons: None
Basically a weaker version of the Jeep, the Open-Top Jeep is a good vehicle for driving through the Air Fleet. Although firing weapons from it is a bad idea at close range to an opponent, you can easily stop the vehicle, jump out, take out any nearby opponents, jump back into the vehicle, and continue on with your progress through the Stage. Straying too far from the vehicle will cause it to return to its original parking position in the Stage (with full Energy).
[edit] Multiplayer
There is a multiplayer mode. In this mode, there are Cyborg Shadows for you to pick. This mode can only be played with two controllers. It is always battle, with three stages to pick from. You can either do only 1 of the stages of all 3 of them. Some of the Cyborg Shadows have their own weapon, but the two normal Shadows do not, so you must either obtain a weapon for them, or use the homing attack to win. If you get hit without any rings, you lose.
[edit] Endings
There are ten different Ending Sequences to the main game mode. These will be determined by what you do in Stage 6, and which Stage 6 you are playing through.
