[edit] Background
Sonic Advance 2 is a side-scrolling platform game released for the Gameboy Advance, developed by Dimps, and published by THQ in late 2002-early 2003, featuring a variety of improvisations ranging from level design to character playability.
[edit] Gameplay
Sonic Advance 2 focuses primarily on basic gameplay, while still maintaining the earlier features of Sonic Advance. Noticable diffences between its predecessor is that this installment is faster, expanded levels and designing, more challenging, more playable characters, and an improved soundtrack corresponding to the level. In Sonic Advance 2, each zone features a boss battle in which the player must defeat to move on to the next zone, and eventually the next act.
A host of new tricks has been implanted in Sonic Advance 2. While jumping, the player can engage in a stunt that can also be used to defeat enemies. It is also possible to break the sound barrier by speeding nonstop, leaving a shattered trail behind and even possible to run over water.
Developers have put in seven special rings, which can be collected without dying if the player makes it through the level. If that is completed, then the player will be taken to a special bonus level in which a Chaos Emerald can be won.
[edit] Characters
Playable characters in Sonic Advance 2 are as followed..
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Miles "Tails" Prower
- Knuckles The Echidna
- Cream the Rabbit and her Chao, Cheese
- Amy Rose
- Super Sonic
