[edit] Background

Sonic Labyrith is a platformer released for the Sega Game Gear in 1995, featured in Sonic Mega Collection Plus, as well as making a return in Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut as an unlockable game.

[edit] Gameplay

Both Sonic and Dr. Robotnik are the only two characters seen in Sonic Labyrinth.

Players take control of Sonic the Hedgehog, maneuvering him through a sequence of pinball-like stages, using his ability to spin dash in order to defeat the Badniks and obtain special keys that lead to the next level. The spin dash is the only move Sonic can perform in Labyrinth, due to Dr. Robotnik secretly replacing Sonic's famous red shoes with another pair, disabling him from running fast.

[edit] Stages

There are a total of four zones, each holding three acts equipped with a boss battle. The main idea of Sonic Labyrinth is to collect the three hidden keys throughout the stages, and proceed onto the next stage by exiting the GOAL door.

Rings can only be collected during boss fights, which means that the player will die in a set amount of two hits, regardless of the amount of rings (except for zero) the player already has. With the keys equipped, Sonic can withstand damage more accurately.
