The Origin of Sonic

  • Script: Nigel Kitching
  • Art: Richard Elson
  • Lettering: Elitta Fell

It's late at night and Tails, Johnny Lightfoot and Porker Lewis are with Sonic, who activates a Star Post, opening the portal to the Special Zone. The group go through the portal and enter the Special Zone, travelling along the track until they reach the end, Sonic explains that usually the Chaos Emeralds are at the end, but he has moved them to a safer place.

After they leave the track they soon come across the Omni-Viewer, an old friend of Sonic's who is like a giant floating screen with a face. Sonic asks Omni-Viewer to show Tails, Johnny and Porker about the history of Dr. Robotnik, including the part about how Sonic got his powers too (that's the best part, Sonic remarks).

The Omni-Viewer shows how Sonic, at this point still an ordinary, but quite fast, brown hedgehog, came across the secret underground laboratory of Dr. Robotnik, although back then he was known as Dr. Ovi Kintobor, a good-natured and kind scientist. They soon became friends and Sonic would visit often. Dr. Kintobor explains how his latest work, the Retro-Orbital Chaos Compressor, or ROCC for short, is gathering all of the planet's evil and storing it within six emeralds. However, Dr. Kintobor has been unable to find the seventh emerald, and without it the ROCC is unstable.

Sonic explaining his history
Sonic stuck around and decided to continue helping Dr. Kintobor in order to find the last emerald. Dr. Kintobor gave Sonic a special pair of shoes he invented, the Power Sneakers, which with their friction reducing capabilities would enable Sonic to run even faster. Using the Power Sneakers and the Kinetic Gyratoscope, like a large treadmill, Sonic's speed helped Dr. Kintobor search for the emerald. However when using it one day, Sonic broke the speed of sound, causing the Gyratoscope to explode and transform Sonic into a blue hedgehog.

On another occasion when Sonic was visiting, Dr. Kintobor was hungry, but all that remained in his fridge was a rotten egg. Dr. Kintobor took out the rotten egg and then tripped over some of the cabling on the floor, falling onto the ROCC and causing it to explode. In the explosion the evil that had gathered in the emeralds had combined with Dr. Kintobor and the rotten egg, changing Dr. Kintobor into Dr. Robotnik.

As Sonic finishes telling his story, Omni-Viewer tells them all to run and get away, but he cannot help himself. Omni-Viewer grabs hold of the group and flings them through his screen, which also acts as a portal. Dr. Robotnik then reveals that he was nearby and had enslaved the Omni-Viewer, causing him to trap Sonic and the others against his will somewhere in the future, giving Dr. Robotnik free reign over the planet.

[edit] Kid Chameleon

Kid Chameleon Part 2

  • Script: Michael Cook
  • Art: Brian Williamson and Steve White
  • Lettering: Ellie de Ville

Casey is fighting off monsters, now armed as a samurai warrior, inside the Wild Side arcade game. As he is fighting, a voice calls him Chameleon, leaving Casey to wonder who or what the voice is. Eventually, after fighting off a bunch of monsters, Casey lands on a teleportation pad, which transports him into a jungle, swamp like area. There he encounters a giant monster, which is holding Suzi captive.

[edit] Streets of Rage

Streets of Rage Part 2

  • Script: Mark Millar
  • Art: Peter Richardson
  • Lettering: Tom Frame

Out in the streets a group of thugs are burning the area and terrorising the locals, until Blaze and Max show up to put a stop to it, taking their weapons too in the process. Elsewhere at a place known as the Safe House, a place notoriously known for processing and packaging drugs, even the police department know about it, but no one has done anything about it, until that evening. Blaze and Max burst through a wall in an armoured van, crashing the van into a tank of something flammable, causing the warehouse to go up in flames. Hawk, who was behind the whole drugs operation, is clearly not pleased to lose millions of dollars worth of drugs and knows that Max must have something to do with it.

[edit] Wonderboy

Wonderboy in Demon World Part 7

  • Script: Mark Eyles
  • Art: M. DJ. Boyann
  • Lettering: Steve Potter

Continuing from last time, Shion is fighting with Grimomen and is able to burn away his wings, although it only temporarily stuns him. Shion realises he will have to make use of his demonic arm in order to defeat him and tries to remain calm as when he gets stressed is when it takes over and has a mind of its own. With the arm under his control, he fights back against Grimomen and knocks him high into the air, and back down again, finishing him off. Shion feels his arm returning to normal and starts to release the prisoners. However, before he can finish and escape, he is attacked by more demons.
