Wave the Swallow is one of the Babylon Rogues along with Jet the Hawk and Storm the Albatross. Wave the Swallow has always been a professional thief along with Jet and Storm. She appeared in the beginning of Sonic Riders, along with the other Rogues, and she stole a Chaos Emerald. Sonic and friends tried to chase the rogues down, but they completely failed. This sparks a rivalry. Soon, Dr. Eggman started a contest. This contest was called a Grand Prix. Using the Extreme Gear, Wave rivaled Tails in racing and mechanical ideas. They both built the Extreme Gear for their team. She uses the W-type Extreme Gear, but can use many others as well. She is a mechanic. Also Wave has a strong disliking of Jet the Hawk.

Wave the Swallow appeared in Sonic Riders for the Nintendo Gamecube and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity for the Nintendo Wii. In Sonic Riders, her goal is to raise the Babylon Garden using all seven Chaos Emeralds. So, she enters the EX World Grand Prix. Jet the Hawk wins the race, but he only wins by using a cheating device that Wave built into Sonic's board, and gets all seven Chaos Emeralds for the Babylon Rogues. They raise the Babylon Garden, and they escape to the garden. Soon, she races against everybody to determine who the real best racer is. She is playable on the Dark Side, which is unlocked by beating the Hero Mode. In this mode, instead of racing as Tails and racing against Wave, you race as Wave and race against Tails. Dr. Eggman also built many robots to compete in the EX World Grand Prix, but they disappear within the last two races. Soon, Wave is racing alongside Jet and Storm to try and get the Seven Chaos Emeralds for her team. She does the final race that is not a boss in Sonic Riders. In Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, she appears again, but this time, the Babylons and the Heroes are friends. They also both want a certain item.

Wave the Swallow is a flying character, just like Tails. She is quick, but she can win races easily using her ability. When you see a Flying sign, and a ramp, go up the ramp with Wave, and you will be flying on your Extreme Gear. You will be flying in the air and there will be Jet Boosters in the air. If you are fast enough, you will be in 1st or 2nd place by the time the ability ends. She can also ride on turbulence and do amazing tricks that will give you an air boost. They will also give you a score. The higher the score you get, the more points you get for doing that trick. You can buy better boards for her, but her default board is the W-type board. The more points you get fills your Air Tank. When the Air Tank is full, Wave can send out Tornadoes and use Boosts. Being a flying character also helps her with this, as every single time you go through a ring, you get more air in the Air Tank, and you can do more tricks. Flying does NOT use up any air, but racing does. Certain boards WILL hold more air, so watch for those if you can. But, some of these boards will not be able to be used by Wave. Wave's boost attack is one where she boosts up and sticks her face in your face to hurt you and make you lose air.
